Re-Engineered to think !

leave a comment »

Lets face it, all of us try to be honest, off course as long we can afford honesty. As I type, I am already regretting the way I am beginning this article. You would have already got a feeling that what ever you are going to read further is not going me an honest opinion! I know that creating a bad opinion on the article right at the beginning itself is like screwing up your project design, later the more you try to fix it the worse it turns out to be!  We procrastinate, as we wait for a perfect moment. Let me not procrastinate to share the thoughts thats running in my mind right now.

I didn’t get carried away when my loved ones (yeh my big gang of lovable friends) kept saying your motto of being perfect has turned into an obsession because it never did , I could never till date point out at some little creation of mine  that seemed perfect and most importantly  I was always talking about healthy perfectionism. We are not alone when we do things, be it home or work place. At home we have our never changing team OUR FAMILY and off course we would never ever want that to change and a different kind of family at work place. At work place when we  think about perfectionism its not just about getting things done correctly and how we do it ! Simple things like making  no fuss over solving problems, everyone trying to become and Active  listener and most importantly in a team   make others feel valued, respected and appreciated even when their contribution is a zero hoping that they would realize soon and they bring out the best in them.

Krithika keeps telling me that I am too good in giving Free Gyan and Yyaan(knowledge in Hindi), I am not to sure of the latter but still would stop it here.

Between I am planning to start a new Technical blog so that I can keep these two separate. For the past couple of weeks, I have been working on a lot of stuffs which I found very interesting like writing widgets for Vaadin, trying out Comet a  model that enables Web servers to send data to the client without having to request for it, was trying out GWT based Facebook App which was really cool!

Coming week I will post all the photos that you have been asking for !

Drizzle After A Drought

with one comment

drought
After a long drought, when it starts to drizzle.Even the thought of  the deafening thunder gives everyone a sense of relief, the leaves await the rains to lash and for once every living creature wants to forget the misery and wants to move on to live a life it always yearned for! What if it was just a drizzle ? A teaser for the worst to come ?

But we don’t wait for things to happen, do we ? We let ourselves take the road that we ourselves aren’t sure of  but how many times do we come back on track ?
I’m not a scientist, a theologist, or even a doctor. Happiness is the goal everyone and all wish to live a happy life. But what does happy life mean? Its an unattainable utopia and anyone who comes up with a formula of happy life like GODMEN themselves know its not true.

Wondering why on a Sunday evening I am up with such a thought?  Stop thinking and go watch the Unscripted Soap Opera IPL3.

Dada we would miss you – It hurts

with one comment

Sourav Ganguly Alias DADA Alias Prince Of Calcutta , I too got emotional along with thousands of your fans in India when you bid farewell to the International Arena .  13 years in the limelight is not  easy especially when you represent the country for a game that is a Religion in India . I am wriiting this blog as I felt I owe this to a man who had the fighting spirit , Never Say Die Attitude . Who believed in himself and who did place the team above all.  The most inspring things that I would cherish in your life time as a crickter was your Sensational FairyTale Comeback . You really are a warrior who fought the battle till the last breath . Anyone who is down and hurt can take you as an example to WIN in life . Two in fact , one when you were dropped in Australia after your One Day Debut and then you came back when a awesome 3 tons in the Test cricket.

I still haven’t forgotton your Ambition bike ad along with Bajji , Sehwag , Yuvraj , your call “Boys” in the ad and also many times in the field showed the authority a person should have on his team , one should earn that respect and you did ! Or your ad supporting Dravid – Greg’s world cup team when you wern’t even considered for it .

Dont you feel bad that you ended your career with a golden duck ! You will forever remain a hero and an inspiration for us DADA .

Our Obligation to ourselves is to improve

with one comment

Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again and this interdependence produces the highest form of living . You might be wondering that this is not what the picture conveys . Well , this is all about how we look at it . 🙂

For those who kept asking me why I have not been blogging off-late , a lot of things have been keeping me busy . I have been throughly enjoying this . Getting up early for the driving class , immediately running to the examination hall to take up my exam (now don’t ask how many of them I am taking up this time :-)) . Immediately rushing back to office and working on the Next-Generation Enterprise Applications . Giving valid excuses to those whom I am not able to meet (you know whom I am referring to) and she doesn’t ponder about it . Because those who know me , know that I always intend to do things that are different , challenging and things that can bring a change . I am working on something that I have been waiting for quite sometime now and I am experiencing a sense of euphoria !

Never Pure and Rarely Simple

leave a comment »

The quickest and easiest way to banish someone’s limiting belief once and for all is to prove them wrong ! And yes , most of the times the effort is Never Pure and Rarely Simple ! You might be wondering what am I trying to talk about here .  In the quest for success most of the times we face some hard questions from our inner conscious . What happens in the end is that either we leave those questions unanswered or we just pacify ourselves giving some lame excuse . I believe our workspace is the place where the entire melodrama  happens ! Picturize  this , how many times we know that we need to be in a meeting on TIME or be at office on time for some important release . We do end up going there late ! What reasons do we cite ?

Being punctual is of course never easy and most of us never bother trying things that doesn’t come that easily to us ! When we are questioned we do have lots of excuses and explanations to give but are they PURE ?  Well , dig into your thoughts and think about those instances where you have tried to run away just because you didn’t have answers with you .

And what have we lost in the process ? Trust ! Remember that the only way we can build up other people’s trust in us is by consistently meeting our commitments  and that starts with being punctual. The person who is always on time is someone others can trust to be as good as their word .

Who wins ?

with one comment

I used this image from Kathy Sierra IT write ups just to bring out of the most important notion that my Guru always points out  ” Do you want to want to be a part of the 10% smart working people or do you want to be a part of the rest 90% who always set a benchmark with their stupidity ? ”   I have known him since the year 2005 started , yes from Jan 1 2005 and since then he has used the above phrase on just two occasions ,  complacency was slowly toll over me like a creeper .

Obviously I had to give it a serious thought , I was wondering why he felt that way . Was my learning slowing down ? Was I not as competitive as I used to be ? The situation here was similar to an open ground . As long as people keep using that place you wont find a weed , a grass growing on it . The moment the place becomes uninhabited , you would find that slowing weeds , grass would start growing and in sometime the place would be covered entirely with bushes full of THORNS !

It was a clear signal and I believe at this stage most of us would go through the same problem but the winner is the one who simply over comes it . Think about the Hare and The Tortoise tale , though the hare was quick , fast but I am sure all us would agree that he lost the race because he became Complacent . We cant end up losing this RAT RACE !

Focus on your necessary and positive thoughts.

Those that keep your life working naturally and Positive thoughts are those that move you forward with the intention of forming win/win relationships. They are your seeds to a successful life. They drive your feelings, words and actions. The more you can think in the positive the more your feelings, words and actions are positive and you are successful .

Don’t get boggled down when you don’t get results

‘Why’ only causes you to respond with ‘because’. And any sentence starting with ‘because’ means that you are now defending your past behaviour and change is impossible. Instead ask yourself; ‘what caused it to happen’ or ‘how did it happen’. Now you have something strong to base your future on.

I would like to add one important thing here , If life be compared with the F1  , there are very few who are like schumacher who can win under any condition given any car ! But most of us aren’t like him but lets try to be like barrichello  who managed many podium finishes when he was with Ferrari .
